Integrity builds credibility. Credibility builds trust. And trust is the foundation of responsible business.

Embedding Integrity into Every Strategic Decision

“Integrity builds credibility. Credibility builds trust. And trust is the foundation of responsible business.”

What does integrity mean to me?

To me, integrity is doing the right thing — especially when it is not the easiest thing to do.

It is the alignment between what we say, what we decide and what we actually do. It means standing by our principles when there is pressure to compromise, and having the courage to ask difficult questions when something simply does not feel right.

Throughout my career in Legal & Compliance, I have learned that integrity is not created by policies alone. Policies can set the framework, but integrity is demonstrated through everyday decisions: how leaders act, how concerns are received, how conflicts are handled, and whether people feel safe to speak up.

For me, integrity also means having the courage to say “no” when necessary and to speak up when it matters — even when it is uncomfortable. It means explaining why, standing by what is right, and helping find a responsible way forward.

This is where I see the true value of Legal & Compliance: not as a function that simply says what cannot be done, but as a trusted partner that helps organisations make sound, transparent and sustainable decisions.

Integrity builds credibility. Credibility builds trust. And trust is the foundation of responsible business.
